The 503B pharmacy list: every FDA-registered outsourcing facility
98 facilities in 28 states, as published by the FDA as of 2026-10-13: 57 have been inspected, 56 received a Form 483, and 7 carry a warning letter or equivalent action. A 503B pharmacy registers with the FDA and is inspected by the FDA; 503A pharmacies are licensed by their state instead and are not on this list (how to check those).
What a 503B pharmacy is
“503B pharmacy” is shorthand. The law's term is outsourcing facility, a category created by the Drug Quality and Security Act of 2013 and defined in section 503B of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. A facility enters it by electing to register with the FDA, and re-registers every year. Unlike a 503A pharmacy, it can compound without a prescription for a named patient, and it answers to the FDA rather than mainly to a state board:
Outsourcing facilities are a category of compounders established in 2013 by the Drug Quality and Security Act. Outsourcing facilities are inspected by FDA according to a risk-based schedule and are subject to increased quality standards.

Questions about 503B pharmacies
What is a 503B pharmacy?
It is the everyday name for what federal law calls an outsourcing facility: a facility at one address that compounds sterile drugs, has elected to register with the FDA, and meets the requirements of section 503B of the FD&C Act. It does not have to be a licensed pharmacy. The FDA inspects it and holds its drugs to current good manufacturing practice. This page lists every one the FDA has registered: 98 as of 2026-10-13.
Are all compounding pharmacies 503B?
No. Most compounding pharmacies are 503A pharmacies: licensed by their state board of pharmacy, compounding for individual patients on prescriptions, and not on this list. A pharmacy missing from the FDA's list has simply not registered as an outsourcing facility; its record is at its state board.
How often does the FDA inspect a 503B facility?
The FDA says it inspects outsourcing facilities on a risk-based schedule and does not publish a fixed interval. As of 2026-10-13, 41 of the 98 registered facilities are listed as not yet inspected. The most recent inspection on the list is dated 9/30/2026.
How can I tell whether a 503B facility has had problems?
Read its row. The FDA publishes the date of the last inspection, whether a Form 483 was issued, whether a recall was conducted, and the action taken after that inspection, in its own words. A Form 483 lists an investigator's observations and is not a finding of violation. Where the FDA has posted the 483 or the letter, the table links it.
Which companies run more than one 503B facility?
Each registration covers one address, so a company with several plants registers each one. Can 503B facilities still compound semaglutide or tirzepatide?
That depends on FDA actions that are still moving: the drug shortage list, and a proposal to exclude both substances from the list of bulk drug substances outsourcing facilities may compound from. The dated status pages for compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide on this site track both.
